The Kennett Education Foundation

Scholarships

The Kennett Education Foundation manages the following scholarships and awards that support Kennett High School Seniors as they pursue their post-secondary education goals:

  • Carol Karkosak Memorial Scholarship, awarded to an aspiring musician or singer.
  • Forrest R. Schaeffer Scholarship, awarded to the student that represents education at its best, in honor of Dr. Schaeffer's lifetime contribution to education and the Kennett School District (new in 2007).
  • James G. Warburton Scholarship, awarded to a Hispanic student who does not have access to traditional financial aid.
  • Kennett Education Foundation Scholarship, awarded to a graduating senior committed to pursuing higher education.
  • Kennett Education Foundation Book Scholarship, awarded to a hard-working female minority student (new in 2007).
  • Kennett High School All-Around Student Scholarship, awarded to a particularly hard-working student who challenges themselves in all aspects of student life (academics, sports, music, clubs, volunteerism).
  • Ralph Parrett Jr. Memorial Scholarship, awarded to a student with financial need whose parents did not graduate from college (new in 2007).
  • Scott Thompson Special Assistance Scholarship, awarded to a graduating senior who has overcome obstacles and shows promise.  It is given in yearly increments over four years as an incentive to complete their secondary education.
  • Donald McKelvie Memorial Chemistry Award (new in 2008), awarded to a graduating senior who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in chemistry.
  • Nancy Stees Memorial Biology Award (new in 2008), awarded to a graduating senior who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in biology.
