The following is a list of KEF scholarships and awards. Scholarships are typically $1,000.00 and greater and are subject to criteria of an application. Applications are available to print on the last tab above and should be submitted to your guidance counselor. Awards are less than $1,000 and are more flexible in terms of criteria and selection. For more information, please download the application and see your guidance counselor.

The Angel Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a student who shows the same unselfish giving spirit as demonstrated by the anonymous donor.
Demonstrated unselfish giving of service to Kennett High School and the community. An outstanding ambassador for Kennett High School. High academic achievement with a minimum GPA 3.0 Based on merit and achievement.  
The Scholarship is awarded annually in the amount of $1500 per year for up to 4 years payable to the College/University and the student.
Jonathan Beech Scholarship
 This scholarship is given in memory of Jonathan Beech, whose four-year battle with brain cancer inspired many fellow students to strive for excellence in academics, the arts and other activities, no matter what adversities they may face.
Outstanding school citizen. Cared about his or her classmates with affection and good will. Actively involved in Kennett High School music program. Intends to continue with artistic endeavors in music, art, theater and/or creative writing.
The Scholarship is awarded one time in the amount of $1000 payable to College/University and the student.  
The Horace W. Cloud, Jr. and Sara E. (Thomas) Cloud Memorial Scholarship
The family of Horace W. Cloud, Jr. and Sara E. (Thomas) Cloud wanted to create a scholarship fund for a hard-working student both in and out of school who truly needs financial assistance to further his/her education.
Strong academics, at least a B average. A student that is hard working both in and out of the classroom. Requires financial assistance.
This Scholarship will be awarded one time and calculated annually by the Kennett Education Foundation. Payable to the College/University and the student.
Family George Award for Outstanding Creativity
This individual’s talent is not only recognized for it's own worth but because it inspires and enriches the schools educational experience and is a gift to the community that raises the quality of life for us all.
Demonstrated artistic excellence or creativity in their field Leadership: Participated in sharing their gifts with the school Attributes of honesty, enthusiasm, integrity, non-discriminatory, constructive influences on the community A strong original voice Empathy for their fellow students and the community.
This scholarship is awarded one time in the amount of $1000 at the end of the students first semester of college upon receipt of paid tuition bill. 
Kennett Education Foundation Scholarship
Awarded to the graduating senior who is committed to pursuing higher education
Graduating senior committed to pursuing higher education
The Scholarship is awarded one time in the amount of $1000 payable to College/University and the student.
Kennett High School All-Around Student Scholarship
Good academics, 3.5 GPA un-weighted, 3 to 4 years playing a sport (does not need to be the same team throughout), 3-4 years participation in some sort of music (play an instrument in band, orchestra or sing in choir) Evidenced greater than required number of community service hours Participated in at least one club per academic year Dedicated, hard working student, who may not be the top scholar but shows characteristics of all around abilities and leadership
Good academics, 3.5 GPA, un-weighted 3 to4 years playing a sport (does not need to be the same team throughout) Participation in some sort of music (play an instrument in band, orchestra or sing in choir) Evidenced greater than required number of community service hours Participated in at least one club per academic year Dedicated, hard working student, who may not be the top scholar but shows characteristics of all around abilities and leadership.
The Scholarship is awarded one time in the amount of $500 payable to College/University and the student.  
Carol Karkosak Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to the senior who has been an outstanding school citizen, who has cared about his or her classmates with affection and good will, and whose spirit has been genuinely influenced by a love of music. This student will not necessarily major in music, but will continue to be involved and enjoy music throughout college and beyond.
Outstanding school citizen. Cared about his or her classmates with affection and good will. Spirit has been genuinely influenced by a love for music. May be used for vocational/technical college, community college or 4- year college/university
The Scholarship is awarded one time in the amount of $1000 payable to College/University and the student.
Ralph Parrett Jr. Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is presented in honor and memory of Ralph Parrett, Jr., a graduate of the Kennett High School class of 1952. Although he did not graduate from college himself, Mr. Parrett valued knowledge tremendously and was a great supporter of high education. It is his family’s hope that this scholarship will support a student who has persevered in the face of challenges and who seeks to continue their education in a post-secondary setting.
Student demonstrates financial need. Student will be a first generation college graduate. Student has demonstrated perseverance, ingenuity and independent thinking. May be used for vocational/technical college, community college or 4- year college/university.
The Scholarship is awarded one time in the amount of $1000 payable to College/University and the student.  
Forrest R. Schaeffer Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded in honor of Dr. Schaeffer’s lifetime contribution to education and the Kennett Consolidated School District. Awarded to a student that represents education at its best in the Kennett Consolidated School District.
Un-weighted GPA of at least 3.0. Considering a career in education Demonstrated leadership
The Scholarship is awarded annually in the amount of $1000 per year for up to 4 years payable to the College/University and the student.  
James G. Warburton Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a Hispanic student who does not have access to traditional financial aid.
Hispanic student without access to traditional financial aid
The Scholarship is awarded one time in the amount of $1000 payable to College/University and the student.  
Garage Community and Youth Center Scholarship
This scholarship is to be awarded to two KHS seniors who best exemplify the Garage's values of academic persistence, service to community, and respect for others
Eligible students will be those who: 1. Demonstrate academic persistence, goal-setting, and a desire to succeed, 2. Serve their community through volunteerism and engagement, and 3. Show consistent kindness and respect towards adults, peers, and younger students.
Two scholarships in the amount of $500 each will be payable to the awarded individuals and post-secondary institution upon verification of enrollment. Scholarship may be used for vocational/technical college, community college or 4 year college/university.

Donald McKelvie Memorial Chemistry Award 
The Donald McKelvie Memorial Chemistry Award will be awarded to a graduating senior who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in chemistry. 
Outstanding achievement in chemistry. 
This award is a one time check in the amount of $250 given to the student. 
Anna M. Ott Memorial Physical Education Award
This award is to be presented to a female student who plans to major in Health and Physical Education in college.
Female student planning to study Health and Physical Education. If there is not a female student who meets that qualification then this award should be presented to an outstanding female athlete.
This award is a one time check in the amount of $200 given to the student.
Ray Lyman Ott Memorial Award for Music 
This award is to be presented to an outstanding member of the Kennett High School Orchestra. 
Member of the Kennett High School Orchestra. 
This award is a one time check in the amount of $200 given to the student. 
Nancy Stees Memorial Biology Award 
The Nancy Stees Memorial Biology Award will be awarded to a graduating senior who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in Biology 
Outstanding achievement in Biology 
This award is a one time check in the amount of $250 given to the student. 
Be Driven Award
In memory of Jay Middleton, this scholarship is to be awarded to a Kennett High School Senior who exemplifies the characteristics demonstrated by Jay Middleton such as respect of others, service to community, and a strong work ethic.
Eligible students will be those who: Show kindness and treat all people with respect, participate in a team sport in high school, serve their community and have logged a minimum of 80 hours of community service/volunteerism throughout their high school career. Exhibit leadership qualities and stand up for what is right with/among peers, Graduate with at least a 2.75 GPA, Are DRIVEN to do their best and make a difference in the world.
The scholarship may be used for a 2year program such as vocational/technical college, community college or a 4 year college/university. $1000 will be awarded upon verification of enrollment
Be The Change Award

This scholarship will be awarded to a Kennett High School senior who will attend a four-year College or University, and plans to apply their education to make the world a better place to live, through a career in research, education, or public service.

Eligible students will: Attend a four-year College or University Have a financial need Have demonstrated a commitment to research, education, or public service Preference is for a student whose parents did not graduate from a four-year College or University

Two payments of $1600 will be made to the College or University
1) to support the student’s first year, after verification of enrollment, and
2) to support the student’s second year, after verification that the student is enrolled and in good standing

KEF/KMS PTO Teacher Appreciation Award

The Kennett Middle School PTO is offering a scholarship in appreciation of the Kennett Middle School teachers.
Kennett Middle School graduate
It will be awarded annually in the amount of $1,100 made payable to the student/university upon verification of enrollment.
Kennett Hispanic AlumniAward 2011
The Kennett Hispanic Alumni Scholarship (KHaS) is sponsored by the Hispanic Alumni and patrons of the Kennett Consolidated School District. The purpose of the award is to promote higher education among the Hispanic community. The KHaS award will be presented to a graduate of Hispanic/Latino descent pursuing a post-secondary education. Applicants will be evaluated on their academic achievement, extracurricular activities, leadership, personal qualities, strengths, community involvement and financial need.
Accepted to an accredited college, university, or vocational/trade school, Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above, be of Hispanic/Latino descent Need not be U.S. citizen
The student will receive a $1,000.00 stipend to be applied towards tuition and/or books. The funds will be submitted directly to the bursar’s office of the student’s school
KEF New Garden Principal Be The Change Award
Awarded to a student who has a financial need.
Eligible students will: Demonstrate a Financial need and be unable to attend college without some financial assistance
$2000 payable to the student/university upon verification of enrollment.
